4-H Club

Head. Heart. Hands. Health.

Those are the four “H’s” behind the 4-H program. The country’s largest youth development organization, 4-H is committed to empowering today’s children and teens through a cooperative partnership with caring adults via programs that help them understand and expand their world.

In 2010, the St. Charles Park District initiated a 4-H program at Primrose Farm. Christened the “Primrose Clovers,” the club is open to children ages 8 to 18, with a companion group for younger children ages 5 to 7 called the “Primrose Cloverbuds.”

The Clovers has grown exponentially over the years – in large part because it gives access to animals to children who don’t live on farms. Clovers regularly work with the Primrose livestock and more experienced 4-H’ers can even earn the right to show animals at the Kane County Fair each July.
